If nothing opens when you tap Load, you're inside another app's built-in browser (a link opened from Claude, Gmail, Messenger and so on), which blocks file pickers. Open the page in Chrome or Safari instead.
Open the file in any text app, select all, copy, and paste here.
Copy an image of the plot, then long-press the box below and choose Paste. A PDF can't be pasted. Open it, take a screenshot or export it as an image, and copy that.
Drag to pan, pinch to zoom. Tap to place a point. Press and hold for a magnifier, slide to the exact spot, then let go. Drag any placed marker to fine-tune it.
A PDF plot with point labels scales itself: the app reads the point numbers printed on the sheet, matches them to your coordinate file, and checks the fit. Add control points by hand only for images or plots without labels: tap the point, then enter its number.
Use this when you don't have two control points. You get distances only, with bearings relative to the top of the sheet.
Use the scale printed on the plot, and only if the PDF is printed at full size. Or tap both ends of a dimension you know:
The same plot as the Plot tab. Tap a point marker to fill the point field you're on. Lines, directions and distances you enter are drawn here, and the result shows in purple.
Angles in DD.MMSS (45.3015 = 45°30'15") or 45 30 15. In Bearing mode pick the quadrant, or type N 45.3015 E. Distances are horizontal, in the coordinate file's units. Calculated points show on the plot in purple and work in every inverse.
Stand on a known point, enter its number and tap Record. Do this on 2 to 4 points spread around the site. Untick a point to leave it out of the fit.
The blue dot is you; the shaded circle is the phone's accuracy. Tap a point marker to stake to it. Phone GPS is good for finding control, not for setting it.
PNEZD order: point, northing, easting, elevation, description. Share sends the file to email, Drive, Teams or Messages. Save puts it in your Downloads.
Tap a row to fill the next empty field.

Chainline Surveyor is a field check tool. Results depend on the coordinate file and plot you load and on where you tap. It is not a substitute for a data collector, office software, or review by a licensed surveyor. Your files stay on this device and are never uploaded.
Bearings are grid bearings from the file's coordinates. Accepts comma, tab or space separated files; header lines and blank lines are skipped. Your last coordinate file, plot and plot calibration stay saved on this phone.
